Alma de Cattleya, Rose' of Pinot Noir, Sonoma County 2016
Winemaker Bibiana González Rave may have the most impressive story you've never heard of. Born and raised in Colombia, her passion for wanting to make world class wine took her to France. She has excelled in making wine at some of the very best chateaus in Côte-Rôtie, Alsace, Cognac and Bordeaux. When California beckoned her, she came running and has since made wine at La Crema, Peay Vineyards, Au Bon Climat, Qupé and Lynmar. She is married to Jeff Pisoni of Pisoni Vineyard family, arguably the most successful and sought after growers of Pinot Noir and Chardonnay in all of California. And to cap it all off, Bibiana is now the winemaker at Pahlmeyer.
Cattleya is an orchid and the national flower of Colombia. Like great wine, it is challenging to grow. But when done right, the rewards are limitless. This wine is made from 100% Pinot Noir grapes selected from three, pristinely managed vineyards in Sonoma County. Cattleya is fresh and vibrant with mouthwatering aromas and flavors of strawberries and cherries along with very balanced acid. It's a can't miss for a warm Saturday afternoon, your aperitif before a full night of great food or after a long day of working way too hard. Cattleya will help you drop your shoulders and exhale a little deeper. 14.1% alc.
