Azur, Sauvignon Blanc, Rutherford-Napa Valley 2015
Winemaker Julian Fayard is easy to like. Not just because he makes great wines, but because is a grounded, humble guy and LOVES what he does. His formal winemaking training comes from spending time at historic wineries in France such as Smith Haut Lafitte and Lafite Rothschild. Once landing in Napa Valley, Julian has worked alongside world renowned winemaker Philippe Melka on several, high profile projects. Julian has been gaining momentum and credibility ever since. The name Azur comes from the wine region Cote d'Azur, which consists of the Loire Valley, Rhone and Provence, three of the most notable wine regions in France.
This wine is 100% Sauvignon Blanc from the Rutherford sub AVA in Napa Valley. It's one of just a few Sauvignon Blanc wines that is on another level. The first sip is a medley of bright aromatics and tropical scents along with vibrant honeydew and a twist of citrus. The first time we tried this wine we were teleported back to the Yassawa Islands in Fiji (still one of our greatest vacations ever). You can go too if you order a few bottles of this wine for your stash, but it won't cost you $$$$ and take you 17 hours to get there. 14.2% alc. Only 250 cases produced.
*Discounts 10% on mixed/matched orders of 12 bottles or more.
