Bokisch Vineyards, Terra Alta Vineyard, Garnacha, Clements Hills-Lodi 2013
Garnacha, known as Grenache in France, originated from Aragon, Spain and has found a new home in the Clements Hills of Lodi. This wine delivers hints and happy notes of plum, cranberry and strawberry with balanced acid and a long finish. Not marathon long, but long enough for you to realize you're drinking something really good. 14.5% alc. Only 515 cases produced.
Winemaker and grower Markus Bokisch landed in Lodi years ago and is now growing some of the most sought after wine grapes in California. Focusing on Mediterranean varietals (they grow very well in the Lodi area due to the warm summer days and cool afternoon breezes from the Sacramento Delta), Bokisch has lately caught the attention of several, high profile Napa Valley winemakers who are branching out and wanting to make more than just Cabernet and Chardonnay.
