Herman Story, Milk & Honey, Red Wine, Paso Robles 2015
Herman Story was quite a guy. A rancher, logger, banker, philanthropist and teller of tales, one might argue he was bigger than life. So is this wine.
Winemaker Russell From, Herman's grandson, makes big, bold and irresistible wines. His grand dad would be quite proud. Milk & Honey is one, bad ass bottle of bodaciousness. This wine is a blend of 35% Tempranillo, 34% Cabernet Sauvignon and 31% Syrah from select vineyards within the California central coast. If it was a hedge fund, M&H would be featured in the Showtime series Billions. We love this wine for its mountain sized aromas and flavors of strawberry compote, fresh roasted coffee, dark chocolate and flash-bang baking spices. Like the name suggests, Milk & Honey has a bit of sweetness with a silky mouthfeel and will keep you eyeing your glass so no one bogarts a sip. We suggest a decanting time of at least 60 minutes prior to drinking. Drink now through 2027. 15.7% alc. Only 700 cases produced.
