Black Sheep Finds, Hocus Pocus, Pinot Noir, Sta. Rita Hills 2013
Winemaker Peter Hunken has been dazzling us (and many others) for several years. He got his start in winemaking in 2001 at Stolpman Vineyards and was the Assistant Winemaker there until 2006. He is also one of the founding members of Piedrasassi and Holus Bolus wines. In 2005 he founded Black Sheep Finds and now is not so quietly making some intense yet very balanced wines from all areas of Santa Barbara County.
Hocus Pocus is a magical, mind wandering Pinot Noir from the Radian Vineyard, located in the Sta. Rita Hills. The vines on the Radian Vineyard are grown on South and West facing hillsides in one of the coolest (and most exciting) Pinot Noir regions in California. One sip of this wine and presto! You'll smell sleight of hand aromas of spring flowers and forest floor and taste flavors of dark berry fruits. And all of a sudden, Ala-kazam! The bottle is empty. You better have your magic wand ready to produce more or, just make sure you order enough the first time. This wine will disappear fast. 14% alc. Only 500 cases produced.
*Discounts 10% on mixed/matched cases of 12 bottles or more.
