Hollis, Cabernet Sauvignon, Napa Valley 2015
Once again, Vintner James Stewart teams up with renowned winemaker Paul Hobbs to deliver Hollis. This wine continues to be one of the very best Napa Valley Cabs under $50, every year. It hangs any day with many wines in the $75 range and we have personally blind tasted and preferred it against a few other Napa Valley Cabernet wines in the $90 range. Hollis was born when Stewart Cellars had some left over wine after blending their 2006 Cabernet Sauvignon. They knew the wine was good but how good? Their first vintage sold out in two months. Since then, every vintage has been a great one for Hollis. This wine is 100% Cabernet Sauvignon from the Max Vineyard which lies between St. Helena and Calistoga and Juliana Vineyard which is located in Pope Valley in eastern Napa Valley. Hollis delivers classic Cabernet flavors of currant, cassis and subtle baking spices. This wine has velvety tannins and a mile long finish. Hollis will drink well now through 2030. 14.5% alc.
