Jelly Roll, Rim Rock Vineyard, Syrah, Arroyo Grande 2013
This is just the fifth vintage of Jelly Roll from Rim Rock, a fantastic, cool-climate, coastal vineyard in Arroyo Grande (San Luis Obispo). Winemaker Jim Knight believes that this is the one of the greatest Syrah vineyards in California because of its “Rhone style” characteristics that it portrays. Named after Jelly Roll Morton, an American ragtime and early jazz pianist, bandleader and composer who started his career in New Orleans, this wine has loads of bright raspberry, crushed flowers, violets and cracked-pepper aromas and flavors. Jelly Roll, just like the great jazz musician, has ryhthm, balance, passion and will make you get up and shake your thang. Just be careful where and who you throw your beads at. 13.6% alc. Only 210 cases produced.
