Last Summer, Grenache, Paso Robles 2015
NWOTB Jen Bartz (assistant winemaker at Field Recordings) has been learning, watching and doing it day in and day out for a few years now. In 2013 she made the move from biomedicine in Los Angeles to pursue her dream of making great wine on California's Central Coast. She fell in love with this region largely because of the diversity and quality of wine growing as well as winemaking. She feels inspired by the attention to farming, sustainability, and the desire of the community to capture the essence of vineyards and varietals. The approach and support she was looking for.
This wine is 100% Grenache from three select vineyards along California's central coast. The wine is mildly red in color, almost Pinot-like. The nose is a potpourri of red fruits, crushed flowers and spice followed by more red fruits and more spice. She's a pretty one but also gives some grip with mild tannins and a a finish that will remind you that you really did enjoy last summer. 14.7% alc. Only 110 cases produced.
