Peirson Meyer, Ryan's Vineyard, Sauvignon Blanc, Napa Valley 2014
One Spring evening in 2001, Alan Peirson, his wife Lesley, Robbie Meyer and his wife Shannon were enjoying a bottle of wine together when their discussion turned to the future. They had all met at the Peter Michael Winery Estate, where Robbie was the Assistant Winemaker, and Alan and Lesley were the Winery Estate Managers. In classic fashion they came up with the name and logo for their brand, sketching it out on a cocktail napkin. That evening, the Peirson Meyer adventure began. In the Fall of 2001 they produced their first vintage, 300 cases of Russian River Valley Chardonnay.
This wine is 100%, single vineyard Sauvignon Blanc from Napa Valley. Ryan's opens with classic fruit blossom aromas along with a succulent spice quality. The wine shows a clean and delicate entry on the palate with a creamy texture and a focused acidity. Peirson Meyer Sauvignon Blanc tends to be lively and fresh on the palate in its infancy, but with age it become more mellow and builds body. 14.2% alc. Only 180 cases produced.
