Precision, Red Wine, Napa Valley 2012
When you make a killer red wine from Napa Valley, you can't be sloppy. It takes a steady hand, attention to detail and some seriously good grapes. Precision is a blend of 68% Cabernet Sauvignon, 14% Merlot and a few, perfectly measured amounts of Petite Verdot, Malbec and Petite Sirah. The fruit source is the meticulously managed Aetna Springs Vineyard which is located in Pope Valley (the backside of Howell Mountain) in the Napa Valley AVA. Aetna Springs produces small berries that make the wine very dark and concentrated. You'll get some intense yet polite black and blue fruit flavors followed by subtle notes of baking spice and dark chocolate. Made by winemaker Trevor Sheehan. 14.5% alc. Only 500 cases produced.
