Stackhouse, Cabernet Sauvignon, Napa Valley 2014
Double down, split Aces, or just bluff your way toward getting this wine. Drinking Stack House is a safe bet. Winemaker Anna Monticelli nailed it again. This wine is sourced from the sub appellations of St. Helena, Spring Mountain, Coombsville and Carneros in Napa Valley. A few phone calls amongst a tight knit group of winemaker friends who have the scoop on the primo grapes got this project going and now, we all benefit. Stack House is a blend of 80% Cabernet Sauvignon, 13% Petit Verdot and 7% Merlot.. Aged in 100% French oak for 23 months, the fruit is ripe and gives the wine a rich and lush feel. The espresso an black currant notes we loved in the 2012 are back. This wine can absolutely hold its own with other Napa Cabs that retail for $40-45. Robert Parker called this one of the top three best value wines for 2016. New label but same, amazing quality. 14.9% alc.
