Teeter-Totter, Red Wine, Napa Valley 2015
When his dream of being a fighter pilot in the French army fizzled because of a medical test, Benoit Touquette tried his hand working at an auto body shop, in road construction and even in banking alongside his father. Nope, nope and nope. But when he got a job with a mobile bottling line in Bordeaux, he was introduced to the wine business and that was that. Benoit achieved Masters diplomas in both Chemistry and Oenology from the University of Bordeaux. Upon graduation, with the help of his friend and mentor Michel Rolland, Benoit got a job with winemaking consultant Andy Erickson in California helping create some of the best wines in Napa Valley including Screaming Eagle, Ovid and Arietta. Eventually he put himself on the map with Realm Cellars.
Teeter-Totter is a decisively delicious Cabernet Sauvignon blended with Merlot, Syrah, Zinfandel, Petite Sirah, Petite Verdot, Malbec and Cabernet Franc. Upon first sniff and sip, you'll be captivated by aromas and flavors of blackberry, raspberry, vanilla, violet and lavender. Benoit has access to some of the finest fruit from St. Helena, Pritchard Hill and Yountville. Aged in 50% new French oak, the wine is balanced, fruit forward and playful. Grab a friend, choose a side and enjoy a little up and down time. Teeter-Totter is a great reminder of why drinking great wine makes everything better. 14.5% alc.
