levo Wines, Flying Colors, Rose', Santa Barbara County 2016
After receiving a heaping pile of rejection letters from all California universities offering enology and viticulture programs, Bret Urness decided to wave goodbye to academia and create his own path in the wine world. He ended up in Portugal’s Douro Valley, with almost nothing but a pair of boots & a journal. Bret realized quickly he didn’t need much besides good fruit, quality barrels & some siphoning tubes to make wines with power, finesse and a soul. Once back in California, he launched levo Wines in 2011.
